Langkawi airport

Hi we are going on the Asia cruise and wondered can anyone tell me if we have to collect our luggage on arriving at Langkawi airport please? - or do we land, get on a coach and go straight to the ship as in Barbados?

Hi Babby,

Was on the cruise 31st Jan to 14th Feb.

Yes, you have to take your cases from the carousel and have them put through the security scanner. You then take them to a collection point where they are taken on lorries to the ship (ie you don't load them on to your transfer coach).

Be warned, unless they have improved, the air side facilities at Langkawi for the flight home were very limited. You couldn't even buy a bottle of water, you just had to buy a a cup of water from a dispenser.

we were told in Manchester that they would be bonded through to Langkawi but the were not. They were bonded on the way back. When we arrived there were long queues for the scanner so be aware of this.

There are places to eat and drink before security so do not go through to the the other side until you have to. In terms of food and drink it is one of the cheapest airports that we have ever been to.

You will love the cruise it is fantastic been back 2 weeks now and wish we could do it all again.
