West Bay and West End while in Roatan

I'm traveling with 6 people and was wanting to know if we would have time during our port day from 8am-5pm to do West Bay for snorkeling part of the day and also visit West End before returning to the ship. Or is there a better way to achieve spending some time at both places? I was also curious as to what the best way of transportation to and from would be. Can anyone provide some feedback and possibly some suggestions?

Taxi on the island are not regulated, it is all about the haggle and you would need 2 taxi with that number of people. 

 

I agree with the about, hire a private driver from one of the tour companies. 

 

There is a water taxi running from West End to West Bay. I believe  it would be easy to arrange drop of in one place and pick up in the other. 

 

One also need arrange day passes in West Bay... Ahhh you could pay for a.day pass with transport included then water taxi both ways to play in West End. 

 

Either way you would have to mind your time.

I would do a day pass to one of the resorts on West Bay and then take a water taxi over to the island.  The biggest issue right now is driving in West End.  They are in the middle of road construction and there have been some serious traffic jams according to the locals.
