cadburysmom Posted March 18, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2019 It is rumored (although Celebrity has yet to confirm) that our upcoming Reflection transatlantic will be docking at nearby Ringaskiddy port instead of Cobh, Ireland. From what I have read, Ringaskiddy is a major industrial port located across the river from Cobh which appears to put cruise passengers at a major disadvantage as there seems to be no transportation or anything within walking distance. Hoping someone reading this has made a cruise stop in Ringaskiddy and can give information such as what is within walking distance of the ship and what local transportation is available? Also, did your cruiseline offer shuttles to Cobh or Cork and were the shuttles free? Thanks in advance!
Rare VMax1700 Posted March 18, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2019 Reflection is listed for Ringaskiddy on May 3rd from 0900h to 1600h (9am to 4pm) on the port of Cork cruise website https://www.portofcork.ie/index.cfm/page/cruiseschedule2010 I would hope that Celebrity arranges shuttles as there is nothing to do or see in Ringaskiddy. There is a bus service to Cork (timetable attached), but if you don't get the one at 9.20 and have to wait until 10.20, it will then be after 11 am you arrive into Cork city. You will then need to get the bus back at 2.20 pm to be back in Ringaskiddy for 3 pm. So a lot of effort for 3 hours in Cork (and if the 2.20pm bus is full, then the next won't get you back for 'all aboard'. 223-1539871777.pdf
gfkcruiser Posted March 23, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2019 Actually, the Reflection moves to Cobh harbor after another ship departs on May 3. There is an overnight in Cork and departs 3 pm or so on the 4th - according to port authorities in Cork.
