Cruisinforabruisin002 Posted March 20, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2019 I'm not new to cruising, but will be new to cruising leaving from the Jacksonville Port. I am wondering if it's a decent port, and more importantly has anyone stayed the night before in Jacksonville? Going down the day before and looking for a decent hotel that is to close the port. Anyone have any good tips or ideas?

Mliddon Posted May 10, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2019 I am not sure if you have already sailed, here is some info. The port is in an industrial area of town. There are no hotels near the port that I would recommend. There are some great hotels down at the Beach, maybe a 20 minute drive. One Ocean in Atlantic Beach The Palms in Atlantic Beach Courtyard Marriott in Jacksonville Beach there are a lot of great restaurants around Atlantic Beach and it would be a fun way to start out your vacation!!! Hope this helps Michelle
simplelife Posted November 11, 2019 #4 Share Posted November 11, 2019 I've been to Jacksonville many times, so all I want precruise is a good night's sleep - thus for our Spring cruise we are staying at an airport hotel that has free cruise parking, but for family fun I would definitely agree with the beach area recommendations above.
