G.M.T. Posted April 12, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2019 A new attraction has opened at Singapore's Changi Airport. The world's biggest inddor waterfall at seven storeys tall and 500,000 liters of rain water recycled: https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-asia-47907500/singapore-airport-tallest-indoor-waterfall-opens
cruisinsusin Posted April 13, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2019 Thanks for posting- looks like one could spend at least half a day looking at sites in the Changi airport alone😊
SakeDad Posted April 20, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2019 Question....the airport has some amazing things to visit...but are they before or after security check in? We have a few days there and can arrange a day at the airport but our departure flight is 6am so no way to do anything that day! Can we do a day trip and see the airport attractions? Thanks
cruisinsusin Posted April 20, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2019 It looks like a good bit is outside of security- here is NY Times article about the new Jewel https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/11/travel/singapores-changi-airport-jewel.html
Iluvcruising2 Posted July 20, 2019 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2019 The new Jewel @ Changi Airport is quite amazing. It is in the public area, directly connected to Terminal 1, and also connected to Terminals 2 and 3 via covered footbridges. Check it out if you have the time! I made this video when I visited Jewel during a very crowded public holiday. https://youtu.be/TgJi8hOJTdg

Thanks We were there last month and got to the airport at 7pm for a 1am flight just so we could try to explore everything. The attractions are a mix before and after security (landside/airside) and I kind of regret that we didn't plan it out better because we missed a few things that were pre-security (eg giant slide) and we couldn't figure out how to get back to landside after we passed through security and found out that we missed a few things. There are also some paid attractions in the Jewel area like the net walk, a few mazes, canopy bridge, etc. It looked fun but we didn't want to buck up the dollars. The other issue we ran into was daylight as some of the attractions would have been better during the day (eg. While the butterfly garden was open at night, most of the butterflies were not active and were difficult to find/see in the evening).
