However, I just looked on Hotwire for the night of May 23 (you're sailing on the 24th, right?) and for $134 they'll guarantee you'll get a room at one of these four hotels - Hyatt Regency, Grand Hyatt, Crowne Plaza or Kimpton Vintage. Just sayin'. Even better hotels, couldn't agree more.

Price is unbeatable and while I know its at best a 3 star hotel we are only there one night? *Tiny, dark room. The kind of room you see on murder shows or unsolved mysteries.*Sand on floor, hair on the bathroom floor and found 2 hairs on the wall in bathroom, *2 out of our 3 towels were dirty*Lumpy, painful, creaky mattress*Hot, stuffy, stale room*AC was loud. Ran constantly & NEVER COOLED the room.*Super thin blanket and one sheet. (which was fine because they didn't feel clean and the room was so hot we didn't need blankets)*Antiquated plumbing. Took awhile for the water to heat up, but once it did it was scalding! Challenging to adjust to decent temperature.*Sat on 5th Ave. which is super loud all night. 2am-4am we heard the staff yelling at locals to go away and leave. One time they threatened to call the police. Traffic noise, people noise. We could hear all of this in spite of the super loud AC.*Staff not very helpful. None of them spoke to you unless you spoke to them first. Then we got sarcastic responses. (2 out of the 3 staff members that we encountered) But not rude, just not friendly. Basically just there to check you in and smoke weed. *Bare minimum in room. ie: bed, 2 small lamps, tiny tv, tiny table & chair, 3 towels. BAM...that's it. Nothing else.*Anywhere else this room would/should be maybe $30 a night. Maybe. I just saw this on Trip Advisor. Gross.

Bigbluegal Posted May 12, 2019 #29 Share Posted May 12, 2019 We are booked at the Hyatt Place Seattle-Downtown. Anyone with experience there? How far to the market mentioned?

How far to the market mentioned? We stayed there a year or so ago. Nice place, great staff, but the gas station right next door is open all night and got quite noisy at times in the wee hours. This time we are booking the Hyatt House nearby (2-3 blocks). It is right by the Space Needle and I understand that it is a quieter location. Either place will shuttle you close to Pikes for free, or you can take the monorail for $1 (senior fare) to within a few blocks.
cjnix29 Posted May 15, 2019 #31 Share Posted May 15, 2019 not to hijack, but I am rethinking my hotel choice and one requirement for my husband is that there is a decent place to run. Any suggestions?
