katesmarma Posted April 22, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2019 I was on another board and 2 people mentioned proof of health coverage was necessary for Cuban entry. Is this correct? If so what was necessary to show or bring.
ithaca gal Posted April 22, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2019 Just sailed to Cuba last week on the Sun. There was NO requirement regarding health care. This was my second cruise to Cuba and I've never heard of such a thing.
Rare Tapi Posted April 22, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 22, 2019 The cost of your tourist visa includes mandatory Cuban medical insurance. So technically you do not need to purchase a separate policy in order to satisfy the medical insurance requirements to travel to Cuba because it’s already included in the $75 that the cruise line will charge you to issue your visa. Do keep in mind that, if your itinerary includes other ports of call in other countries besides Cuba and you wish to have medical coverage at those ports as well, you will need to either make sure that your regular medical insurance will cover you while in those countries, or you may want to purchase a separate policy that covers you at those ports of call as well. I know that if you fly from Canada the visa is different and there is a requirement to show healthcare coverage with those visa's. katesmarma Posted April 22, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted April 22, 2019 Thanks for info. I had looked everywhere in the cruise doc Did not find. Not aware there are different visas. One had said NCL takes care of it. Now I know how.
