Cancelling Shore Excursion & using Carnival GC

Just cancelled a shore excursion that I had purchased with a Carnival gift card.  From what I've read it should be refunded back to another carnival gift card.  For those that have done this prior what was the timeframe and process of receiving your refund.  Thanks!

Okay, thanks!  I just cancelled it 2 days ago, but didn't receive any email confirmation of the cancellation.  I will just wait it out for right now.  When I rebooked it with the discount it did change the booking # but I still have original confirmation email for reference.
