14 day Canada-New England

I am thinking of booking the 14 day round trip out of New York to Canada-New England...one sailing is September 1.  The other is October 4.

Very curious what kind of weather those who have done this voyage experience.  I assume it would be cooler on the October 4 sailing.

Any other tips appreciated.   Thank you.

We did this as part of a 29 night round trip from Southampton the year before last.  Our dates were in the middle of September for this part of the trip. Apart fron Sept Illes, where it was very cold with a strong wind, I remember having lovely weather. It had been so mild that the trees hadn't really changed colour.
