Vista M&G 4/28/2019 sailing question

We just left the Vista in Galveston yesterday.  On the first seaday we had a M&G in the piano bar.  They had OJ, coffee and pastries available for us plus a representative from the CD staff, a ship staff officer and the ship captain were there to talk to all 13 of us.  This has never happened on a CCL cruise before that we have been aboard.  Is this unusual or is it done all the time for M&G?
