SailorMiken Posted May 8, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2019 Looking forward to our upcoming TA in October aboard the Pearl. I have searched the board and have come up with scattered information about the minibar? I am trying to weigh the cost of bar setup's (which are ridiculous!) vs the occasional use of the minibar. Would anyone have any idea or list of minibar charges? Would our suite or the Premium Plus package impact the cost? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
valleyvillage Posted May 9, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2019 Suite or PP package would not change the price of the mini-bar or the cost of a drink ordered from room service. It's hard to find (as you have found!) the mini bar prices. This year I seem to reacal it was around 3 dollars for soda and around 10 dollars for hard liquor. Some less some more. But those are subject to change. A recent cruiser may have more info, but for sure I know that suite or PP package would not change the price of the mini-bar. Bon Voyage! And enjoy that Premium Plus! don't-use-real-name Posted May 9, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2019 2 different oranges throwing some apples in the fiasco: The mini-bar is what is in the mini-fridge and consists of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. A few hard liquor miniatures - a few beers (lite and full body) soft drinks Pepsi Diet Mt. Dew etc. Price range is from $3 to $5 dollars or more (each). The Bar-Set-Up is purchased in advance pre-cruise or from Room Service on board. Bottles are normally full liter and costs vary from $100 to $130 ++ and include the fixins mixers. xxxxxxxxxx Would our suite or the Premium Plus package impact the cost? xxxxxxxxxx Being in a suite the mini-bar is not included extra UNLESS in an Owners Suite or Garden Villa *** *** but in these cabins complimentary hard stuff 3-6 bottles are provided with all the fixins mixers by your Butler and stocking the mini-fridge with your needs. That Premium Plus package gives you complimentary drinks of top shelf liquor - with the regular Unlimited/Ultimate package any drink over $15 you pay the difference plus gratuity xxxxxxxxx Buying wine is another option - The Viva Vino being perhaps the best bang for the buck for wine drinkers. Beer can be bought with a package "Cork's N Cap's" or a separate deal at a bar in a bucket (buy 5 get one free). There are two Ultimate (Unlimited) Beverage packages - one with all drinks under $15 complimentary and other a surcharge variation with Premium Plus top shelf stuff. Some of these can be combined but with the Ultimate/Unlimited Open Bar why bother at this point ! Need ICE your cabin attendant will provide you with all you need. Compare your drinking regime - length of cruise - cost of the plans - your budget - for what is best ! Have more specific tastes come back with more questions for our esteemed drinkers ah er readers to answer !
SailorMiken Posted May 9, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted May 9, 2019 Thank you for the feedback. From the deckplan, it looks like the Great Outdoors is just two decks above us and has a bar. The exercise will do us good 🙂. I have decided we will have the minibar emptied for the 16 days. and if we do decide to entertain in the suite or on the deck, we will just order through our butler. Thank you all again!!
hammermw Posted May 9, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 9, 2019 Wait, does NCL offer bar setup or does it vary by ship? We would love (well maybe love isn't the correct word) to buy a bottle and some mixers for our room, but haven't found where it is offered. trex-de Posted May 9, 2019 #6 Share Posted May 9, 2019 Before UBP we ALWAYS did a bar setup. Yes, 1 L of Rum is expensive but we mixed rum and coke and added to weak fruity drinks.

Only ship that is different is the POA sailing in Hawaii - Hawaiian liquor laws From my file copy 2013 - NOTE - prices certainly will have changed as well as selection - BUT- the telephone number is the same 1-800-327-7030 These alcoholic beverages are sold as Bar Set Up amenity orders. Available on all Ships excluding Pride of America. Please Note: Pricing from Nov. 2013 Bar Set-Up is available for all stateroom categories.Bar Set-Up must be pre-arranged before the voyage and can be requested up to the day prior to sailing. No longer applies - best if done in advance to avoid state liquor sales taxes in some states. If ordering on board do the ordering well out to sea - - - That noted when on board order from Room Service or talk to a bar tender or guest services In a suite order thru your Butler The fixins mixers can be cans of soda lemons limes tell room service what you would like If you are without a beverage package (UBP) buying and having the bottle in your cabin is not all that bad considering ordering bar drinks ala carte a liter bottle goes a long way and better economically i.e. $100 liter bottle makes say 20 $7 dollar bar drinks =s a $40 savings and that is being conservative 1.800.327.7030 Bourbon/Whiskey Seagram's 7 Crown $80 1 Ltr Jack Daniel's Black $100 1 Ltr Crown Royal Special Reserve $100 750 Ml Cognac Courvoisier VS $120 750 ml Rémy Martin V.S.O.P $100 700 ml Gin Beefeater $80 1 Ltr Bombay Sapphire $100 1 Ltr Liqueurs Baileys Irish Cream $100 1 Ltr Southern Comfort $100 1 Ltr Disaronno Amaretto $100 1 Ltr Godiva Chocolate $100 750 Ml Grand Marnier $100 1 Ltr Kahlua $100 1 Ltr Rum Bacardi Superior $80 1 Ltr Captain Morgan $80 1 Ltr Scotch Whiskey J&B Rare $80 1 Ltr Glenfiddich $100 1 Ltr Chivas Regal $100 1 Ltr JW Black $123 980 Ml Tequila Cuervo Gold $80 1 Ltr 1800 Reposado $100 750 Ml Don Julio Reposado $120 750 Ml Vodka Smirnoff $80 1 Ltr Absolut $100 1 Ltr Absolut Citron $100 1 Ltr Absolut Apeach $100 1 Ltr Grey Goose $120 1 Ltr Grey Goose L'Orange $120 1 Ltr Grey Goose La Poire $120 1 Ltr
