mongo59r Posted May 17, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 17, 2019 Any suggestions for Cuban food in FLL? Planning on arrival around 8 P.M. on a Saturday prior to sailing Sunday. Thanks
FOPMan Posted May 17, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 17, 2019 http://www.coladahouse.com/menu/ on Federal Highway is probably your best bet, although may not be open all that late- check their hours. It’s about 10-15 minutes (depending on construction) from the hotels on 17th Street.
mongo59r Posted May 18, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted May 18, 2019 I appreciate the tip. This is quite close to our hotel.
BlueHerons Posted May 21, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 21, 2019 Colada House is good but is is a bakery and they do close early. Except for Havana 1957 in Pembroke Pines, the two I really like Las Colinas and Nuevos Cubanos also close early but are full service restaurants. I personally think Havana 1957 is worth ubering to. Las Vegas which is closer is open until later also.
BNBR Posted May 21, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) There is also Padrino's right down the street from Colada House and in my opinion, better, though both are fine but Colada isn't open past 9. Padrinos doesn't close until 10:30. It would be an expensive Uber to Havana 1957, I don't think it's worth an extra $50 in travel costs compared to what is near you. But I would say it's got the best atmosphere with live music on Saturdays and is open late. It's also pricey. If you want to go dance and hang out with drinks late in to the evening it may be worth it. But it's going to cost you quite a bit compared to a spot near your hotel. I would just go to Padrino's, it's a really nice restaurant, great Cuban food, and reasonably priced. Edited May 21, 2019 by BNBR
mongo59r Posted May 21, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted May 21, 2019 Thanks BNBR! We are fans of Havana 1957 and came to the same conclusion. We'll into the Padrinos option.

I was just at that Padrino's on Monday, funny enough. It's a great restaurant.
