Bar Credit ?

Recommended Posts

If you're referring to Cruise Bar Cash, it can be used for the purchase of any alcoholic beverages from a bar, or bar service (MDR for instance). I don't know about using it for the Cheers program, but I do know that I had some Cruise Bar Cash ($10 voucher) and they wouldn't apply it to soda purchases so I ended up having to buy a drink (a real hardship, I know LOL!)

What I prefer to do is buy standard Cruise Cash, which can be used to purchase anything you put on your S&S card...

Just a heads up if the drink package you are referencing is Cheers! it is less expensive to purchase it prior to sailing at $51.95/per adult in cabin* the length of the cruise. Wait till you are on board and the same exact package is now $56.95/per adult in cabin* the length of the cruise.

If you are referring to the the Bottomless Bubbles then the price is the same either prior to boarding and on board. Though either program is subject to price increases at the whim of the cruise line, at least if you purchase pre-cruise the price is locked in.

Remember all Cruise Cash is non-refundable and if you have the department specific ones you can not utilize the casino trick to zero out the balance.

Just found the answer to my question on FAQ Carnival

  • Cruise Cash Bar ($25, $50, $75 and $100) - Can be used on all bar purchases (alcoholic, non-alcoholic and specialty coffee shops).

Also important to remember with Bar Cash is that you have to use it or you lose it.  Usually not a problem for us, but on our last cruise both my husband and I had drink on us casino cards so spent less than we normally do on our bar tab.  Consequently, we ended up forfeiting about $50 in pre-purchased bar cash.

Pre Cruise currently Bottomless Bubbles is 10% off. Woop!
