Catania DIY - help

Hi,

 

Just not sure what to do in Sicily. Have done Taormina, Etna a number of times and are looking for something different. Have booked an excursion but not 100% sure.

Wondering if anyone has done Catania on their own. Is there anything to see there? Is it close to where the ship docks?

Catania, like most Sicillian ports is a dump, you are best getting out of town as soon as you can.

Oh dear …..

 

It will be our first day on the new Celebrity ship, EDGE, so we were tempted to just stay on the ship and have a look around while everyone else was off exploring. Have to say, having looked at your comment and reviews elsewhere I think that will be our plan of attack for the day.
