Hawaii - POA Questions

Will be on the POA this August.

I need to know the names of each port for the POA

This way I can locate on map, find nearest rental agencies, and plan our day.

 

Maui

Hilo

Kona

Kauai

 

Also, are any of these ports tendered ports?

The only port we tendered at was Kona.

In Maui you dock at Kahalui. Most passengers will rent from the airport. Rental car company shuttles will pick you up at the pier.

 

In Hilo and Kauai it works the same way, Hilo airport and Lihue airport both just a few minutes from the pier and shuttles will take you there and back.

 

In Kona you tender. It used to be that you could rent from a location at a hotel near where the tenders let you off but I don't know if this is still the case. We didn't rent a vehicle in Kona, we used it as a rest day and just walked around town. Perhaps someone else can provide better information for you.
