ramidon1 Posted June 4, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2019 Can anyone recommend a car rental agency easily accessed from the port? ...also needs to be open on Sunday. Last time I booked a car in Marseille, it was difficult to get a taxi and the location was deep into the city in an area we felt “uncomfortable” to say the least. sailing canary Posted June 5, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2019 Not sure how easy to access from the port as I don't know exactly where you'll dock, but Avis, Hertz, Europcar and Sixt all have rentals at Marseille St Charles railway station and (unusually for France) they are all open on Sundays. HTH 'location was deep into the city in an area we felt “uncomfortable” to say the least'. Just curious, what makes you say that??
Rare Hlitner Posted June 5, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2019 We would simply reiterate that there is no way to easily access a rental car from the port. You need to get yourself from the port to the rental car agency. If you cannot get a taxi then your cruise line should be operating a shuttle service into town with the drop place usually at the old port. From there one can walk to the train station or the agencies in that part of town. Since it is a bit of a hike, if some in your party have mobility issues the renter (assuming they are mobile) can go pick up a car and later pick-up the rest of the party.
