Onboard ATM and email

I read in our newly arrived documents (yea) that there is an ATM aboard and ship email for $2.00 incoming and $2.00 outgoing mail. First, the ATM: does anyone know what the ship's service charge is for using the machine and also daily limits? As for the email, rather than worrying about the 75 cents a minute (I have no laptop to compose in Word first) I might consider this for two occasions during our 14 day trip. Is there anything to beware of with this service? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

You can compose your messages on the ship's internet cafe computers in Word or Wordpad first at no charge. When you first log in, you can choose to log in "locally" (free) or for "internet" access. Once you have your items composed in "free" mode, you can then log in for "internet" and quickly copy and paste them into your web mail service (e.g., Comcast, Yahoo, etc.)

Sailingseas:

Heres a little hint instead of the ATM. You can take money out of the casino cage for no charge, fairly high limits. The money is then put on your sign and sail card and all sent to your credit card company at the end of the cruise as a PURCHASE. Consequently, if you back up your account with a credit card with incentives you pick up miles or whatever for the money you take out at the cage as well as your normal purchases.

In December we were on the Zenith and they changed the internet rates. It is not 50 cents a minutes for EVERYTHING you do on the computer. That includes internet, Word, etc. I have seen a couple of other posts where others have had similar experiences on other ships. I do not know if this is fleet wide or not.

In context, I'm going to assume you meant "It IS 50 cent a minute...]

Definitely not. Galaxy was still "dual mode" in December. I wonder if the Zenith situation was an error? When logging in, the instructions were still very specific about what mode you were using to log in, and that one provided basic MS tools and the other internet access.

Galaxy may be, but Zenith is not. They had signs up and the new amount was in my guest services book. The change happened in November as some of us have compared notes. I have seen one other person say the same thing about prices on another ship besides Zenith. So, are they in the process of changing and doing it one ship at a time or are they changing the pricing on a couple of ships to see how the revenue is???
