We booked a guarantee balcony cabin with the Sailaway rate. We were assigned a Family balcony cabin on the 9th deck. Any information to share about this type of cabin. I do notice on the deckplan diagram that it is a connecting cabin. Are connecting cabins overly loud? Thanks for any information.

The one time I booked a GTY category, I was scared about being assigned a connecting room, but everyone has assured me that it's a non-issue. No more sound comes through the set of connecting doors than through the walls. I ended up being assigned a non-connecting room, so I still haven't experienced it first hand, but I think you will be fine.

Have been in connecting cabins a few times, no difference in noise transmission have found more noise is transferred from people on their balcony. And yes depends upon the people in the adjoining cabin but I don't believe that age is a contributing factor, rather lack of consideration is

I would think it depends on the people in the other cabin.   If they are older they may have loud conversations or listen to the tv loud.

Wow, so "older" people are deaf and scream at each other with their TV to the Max?  Hopefully there will be the whispering quiet young people who never raise their voices next to them...

I learned that after taking my dad on his cruise =  his tv was so loud I heard it in the hall way
