bowen9475 Posted June 14, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2019 We booked a guarantee balcony cabin with the Sailaway rate. We were assigned a Family balcony cabin on the 9th deck. Any information to share about this type of cabin. I do notice on the deckplan diagram that it is a connecting cabin. Are connecting cabins overly loud? Thanks for any information. The one time I booked a GTY category, I was scared about being assigned a connecting room, but everyone has assured me that it's a non-issue. No more sound comes through the set of connecting doors than through the walls. I ended up being assigned a non-connecting room, so I still haven't experienced it first hand, but I think you will be fine.
serene56 Posted June 14, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2019 I would think it depends on the people in the other cabin. If they are older they may have loud conversations or listen to the tv loud.
dcruiser50 Posted June 14, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2019 Have been in connecting cabins a few times, no difference in noise transmission have found more noise is transferred from people on their balcony. And yes depends upon the people in the adjoining cabin but I don't believe that age is a contributing factor, rather lack of consideration is

Hopefully there will be the whispering quiet young people who never raise their voices next to them...
