Mayann2 Posted June 17, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2019 Hello Fellow Cruisers We have identified what look like good small group excursions from Haifa (on 27/10) to Nazareth and Galilee and from Ashdod (on 28/10) to Jerusalem and Bethlehem. The cost is US$99pp for a min of six participants. If you are interested in details and possibly joining us, let us know. We are a British couple who have done a lot of traveling and have always tried to book our own excursions on cruises. All the best. Glad to hear you have made contact OK with the agents in Israel and will be joining the tours in Haifa and Ashdod. Let's hope we get two more to join to make up the minimum number. Look forward to meeting you. Best regards Richard & Lorraine

Fair winds... While we did not use Silversea late last fall in going from Athens to Dubai, I can offer a number of key tips, ideas and suggestions. Below is the link to my full live/blog with many visuals to highlight these great port options. It's great that you have three days for the many options to consider in Israel. We had only two days in that country and did an overnight in Jerusalem to maximize our time in that super historic city and nearby. Both Petra/Wadi Rum and Luxor are amazing. Small-group, private tours worked out so well for us in these three different areas. Luxor involved an overnight there to gain more time and flexibility to experience fully the Valley of the Kings, their temples, etc., etc. All very fascinating!!! I see that you have a stop in Salalah, not Muscat, for Oman. Muscat was super great with a wonderful private tour. Salalah, however, was more challenging and limited. If there is one point of key "wisdom", it is that your advance research and planning can be very, very vital. There are so many great and different options to consider that you need to consider these potentials very carefully. In advance!! We also found Dubai and Abu Dhabi to be great and unique. Glad we spent a couple extra days there at the end of our cruise. Loved the markets, architecture, etc., in the UAE. Happy to answer any more details questions and info needs. THANKS! Enjoy!
