Rare Barbara B Posted April 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2004 We are trying to decide between the Miracle and the Valor for a Dec. 26 sailing (over new years). We are travelling with our 18 year old daughter and 13 year old son. Any thoughts? We generally like to do soft adventure/eco-type shore excursions as opposed to shopping. Any help appreciated. jimmy627 Posted April 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2004 My favorite class of ship is the spirit class which includes the Miracle.the gorly is larger and no matter which one you choose it will be nice .just pick the one with the route you like best and go for it. 11/27/2004 CARIBBEAN PRINCESS cruisemates1@aol.com THE MIRACLE 2-13-2005
glrounds Posted April 16, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2004 Both would be new and nice. Your selection should maybe be more about itinerary since you prefer certain types of tours. I'm sure you'll enjoy both ships. Gary
LWBe Posted April 16, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2004 We chose the Valor because of the itinerary...We are going with the entire extended family (8 kids 4 months-19 years) and my kids like to dive and do similiarly active, interesting stuff. We decided that Belize, Honduras and Grand Cayman would provide a more interesting trip in terms of dive sites and "eco-stuff". Cozumel had great diving and snorkeling too... imlulu Posted April 16, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 16, 2004 We chose the Miaracle over the Valor for several reasons: 1.Miami/FLL more $ to fly into from my local airport then Tampa 2.Many people recommend the Spirit over Conquest class. 3. Great price I got for President's day week for the Miracle. I have to say though that if the Valor had done eastern that I would have booked it no matter what. No longer cruiseless...donations still accepted! ;-) Last cruise Sensation 2/17/
Rare Barbara B Posted April 16, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted April 16, 2004 Thank you all. We have booked the Valor. Great itinerary. We, too, like the slightly one-off adventuring. Honduras appealed more than Costa Maya (we've vacationed twice in Playacar/Akumel--glorious, but time to try something different.) The Valor will be interesting to do with our 13 and 18 year old kids. Booked an ocean view quad at a nice price. We are going on the 12/26 sailing over new years. Does Carnival do up New Years special? Barbara
