Viking Ocean - Iceland Pre-Cruise Extension

Arrived in Iceland July 7, on a 4 day stay before joining the Viking Sky and the “Majestic Fjords & Vibrant Russia”  cruise.  Arrived here at 6AM, was met by Viking transfer rep who took charge of our luggage and took us to the hotel.  The room at Hilton Canopy Hotel, was not ready until 1300.  No big deal the hotel stored our luggage; the Viking rep in the lobby explained that there was time for breakfast and free time around the hotel area.  At 1300 we received our key and the luggage was already in the room.  Viking has everything set up for tours.  Day 2 was split into AM/PM with a trip to the Blue Lagoon in the AM and back to the hotel for lunch. Speaking of the lagoon, absolutely do not miss this adventure.  You take a swim suit, put all of your clothes and belongings in a secure locker, the provide a towel and you walk into the water.  No need for water shoes, it is very smooth getting to the water and the bottom is also smooth.  The water was very pleasing at about 103 deg f.  Put on a clay-silica cream mask (if you choose) and enjoy the time in the lagoon.  The  afternoon was spent on a motor coach city tour that ended back at the hotel around 1700.  Day 3 will be spent all day on a motor coach tour of the Golden Circle.  On  Day 4 we fly to Stockholm to board the Viking Sky.

We'll be doing Ultimate Iceland as a post extension to the Midnight Sun in 2021, so it's good to know that things are going well for you. Ultimate Iceland is a 5 day deal but overlaps some of what is offered in your extension.

Beyond a doubt if you are staying in Reykjavik stay at the Canopy by Hilton.  It is in the heart of the city and everything is within an easy walk.
