late flight from santiago to Miami now what??

we have cruise air and transfers from the Millennium to Santiago but our flight does not leave until late that evening. What can we do for the day?

 

Is it possible to take a tour from the airport? can we check our bags early or leave them someplace?

 

dont just want to waste our last day sitting in the airport.

We're in the same situation - after disembarking Regal Princess in Valparaiso on Mar 22. Princess does offer tours (I believe 7 hrs duration) in conjunction with their air transfers.

 

Many hotels will offer their guests "luggage storage" for the day, along with a late checkout.

 

The flight schedules are not too convenient - but no one said travel was easy all the time!

Turismo Nuevo Mundo will pick you up at the ship, take a winery tour, lunch and transport to Santiago hotel or airport for about $75pp.

We are using them for a tour - hotel - tour - airport at a total cost of just under $200 pp including hotel.

We went the other direction (early flight to Santiago, late departure on the ship). We arranged a combination tour of the wineries and transportation to the ship through http://www.southstartours.com Even with the tour it was cheaper than the transfers sold through the cruise line.

 

I am sure you can do the same in the other direction.

are planning to use this company for a transfer from valpariso to santiago, any comments? do you have to pay in advance? we want to do the whole day.

They require a third in advance and the balance 10 days prior to the tour - they will charge to a CC.
