Anything besides Majahual or Ruins?

We're going to Costa Maya on our cruise next month and haven't been there before. My step-daughter and son really just want to lay on the beach, and I've heard that Majahual is really great. I think my husband and I will enjoy that for a while also, but not all day, but we won't have time to do the ruins and enjoy Majahual for a while. Does anybody have any suggestions on what else we can do there for a couple of hours or so?

I was going to book the Beach Break thru costamayashipexcursions.com but I think my wife and I will just freelance that day. I don't want to spend the whole day doing just one single thing. Will probably pick up a local vendor for snorkeling and maybe parasailing. Those would probably last an hour and a half each.
