Sale has lasted 18 days, is this the norm?

I've been surprised that they keep running the Free Airfare.  I would think it's much more expensive & troublesome to them than the other promos which are items they control on board the ship.    I've expected that part to drop off of the ongoing and seemingly never-ending 'Free at Sea' sale🤔

Probably not as much as you would think - empty seats on an airplane are similar to empty cabins on a cruise ship.

Both are perishable - once the ship has sailed - the flight left the gate - if it wasn't filled by then too late to make a profit.

But even a token minor miniscule profit/yield and further something even a loss will still generate some yield.

With the cruise ship making a profit off of the Casino Gift Shop Duty Free Shore Excursions Spas etc. the airlines

make it off of baggage fees and some upgrading it is far better than leaving that empty seat/cabin.

We don't know to what degree the Cruise Lines (NCL and others) go to - to barter negotiate those combo air/cruise

fares - but it all goes back to the EMPTY SEAT - CABIN that perishable commodity.
