Southampton Road Closures

We have just been advised that Junction 1 of the M27 motorway will be CLOSED from 2200hrs Friday 19th July to 0500hrs Monday 22nd July. If you are joining your ship on Saturday or Sunday this may affect your route planning.

The closure is Junct 1 of the M271, not the M27.

 

The M271 is a spur off the M27 at J3 and leads to the western end of Southampton.

Professional drivers (coaches, car services etc) will be aware of the closure, but if self-driving be aware that GPS tend to select that route.

Driving from London or the north on the M3, after Junct 13 of the M3 choose either M27 west or M27 east then in a few hundred yards take the ramp signed A33 Southampton. When your GPS realises you've left its planned route it will re-calculate & direct you along the A33 to your destination.

Driving along the M27 from the west, remain M27 past J3, also ignore the M3 London ramp, & exit the M27 at J5 (airport, Southampton, A335). Follow Southampton signs & your GPS will re-calculate your new route.

Driving along the M27 from the east, unless your GPS directs you off the M27 earlier  (which is fine),  exit at J5 & follow Southampton signs & your GPS will re-calculate your new route.
