GKCruising67 Posted July 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2019 Hi from Karen & Glenn. We'll be arriving in Hamburg on the QM2 in late October. The time of docking is estimated to be 7:00AM. Our flight from Hamburg to Zurich on Swiss Air is at about 11:20AM. We know that cabs are an option, but just wanted to know if anyone had any advice regarding the "best way" to travel from the Hamburg cruise port to the main airport. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Glenn
AF-1 Posted July 16, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2019 Hello, I can not give you specific answer to your question; but I will suggest you post this question on the Europe ports of call board. Some of the experts there may not even look at this site.
Capt_BJ Posted July 16, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2019 (edited) best way: I'd take a taxi but there is a shuttle bus from the terminal to the S-Bahn train which will take you to the airport. https://www.cruisegate-hamburg.de/en/terminal/cruise-center-steinwerder and I'll bet Cunard will have a shuttle you can sign up for . . . I'm not a big fan of dragging bags on trains .. a taxi takes all worries out of the equation for me (which train, how often does the train run) When visiting Hamb' we used the trains A LOT to get around and they are great ..... but if arriving on QM and needed to get to the airport efficiently ... I'd taxi. When we had been in Ham' for several days and knew our way around on the trains and it was time to head for QM2 (west crossing via SH), we took a taxi! And that was when they used the Hafen City terminal ... easier to get to ..... Edited July 16, 2019 by Capt_BJ
