Chacchoben by taxi?

Im travelling to Costa Maya with a group of 8 adults and want to visit Chacchoben ruins. One friend suggested we get taxi's there and back instead of going with a tour group. Is this something that would be possible? I've tried to find info on people doing this but couldn't. I understand it's a 50 or so minute drive so I'm thinking going with a tour group (Native choice seem like a great option) might be the better way to do it.

No idea of taxi cost but with Native Choice  you get a great guide. Needed to understand  everything there.

Your  friend  is right regarding  cruise line excursions.  But you can be the only ones on your tour with Native Choice.
