Wait list for a segment and available for the next one

I have booked Lisbon to Miami, Nov 23 to Dec 7, 2019. Category F1 is still available but for the previous cruise  nov 12 to Dec 7, Barcelona to Miami this category is wait list. How it is possible?

I’m guessing there is a separately bookable cruise from Barcelona to Lisbon and that cruise has the other F1 suites booked.

They are two separate cruises. We are on the Lisbon to Miami segment.

A predetermined Barcelona to Miami cruise was offered via the online search function in early 2018.  It took a while after we booked--in March 2018--to realize that Regent created a btb cruise and there are really 2 segments Barcelona-Lisbon-Miami.  Since the Barcelona to Lisbon segment includes Morocco, I assume these ports may have drawn guests for this portion alone or as a btb from the previous Med segment.
