What sort of excursions? If you just want Playa you catch the ferry. Not sure why you would want to go just there unless you have done everything in Cozumel. Could you be more specific?

Most, but not all, ship excursions to Playa  from Cozumel are organized by cruise lines.  You can head over to the Playa del Carmen board and see if anyone is reporting any excursions originating in Cozumel.  Otherwise, you'll take a ferry over to Playa and then hook up with an independent provider there.
