Looking for info on how to easily get to Peggy's Cove. We are a party of 4, do we have to pre-book a tour or will there be tour vendors at the port?

You will find taxis at a fixed rate per hour at the dock but renting a car would likely be less expensive. Check out  this document which outlines options for Halifax.

Did you consider to rent a car?

 

Last October, we rent a car in Halifax to visit Peggy’s Cove. The car rental was only 10 minutes from the port (walking distance). It was the cheaper and more convenient option for us.

Moreover, the drive is easy. You will enjoy the scenic route and be free to stop anytime for pictures.
