Momto2PrncChrmgs Posted July 29, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2019 Has anyone taken a cab to Mangan's Bay and hiked? THe excursion on our cruise next week is booked. Is the hike safe and well-marked (don't want to get lost in the woods)! 🙂
Ms411 Posted July 29, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 29, 2019 Magens is a popular destination for cruisers and many go on their own. There are signs near the ground directing you to the trail, but I think it's across the street from Shed 3. I tried to remember to pay attention the last time I was there. The trail goes straight up a hill so some people find it challenging. Need good sandals not flip flops. Trail is rocky.
bobcatcruiser1331 Posted August 17, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2019 This has piqued my interest as we are looking for something to do in St. Thomas when we are there in early January. I didn't realize this existed but we love this type of activity. Does anyone have recommendations for transportation to/from the trailhead from the ship? Or, any other general tips? Ms411 Posted August 18, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2019 The trail starts across the street from the beach. Look across the street from Shed #3. Any taxi can take you to Magens Bay Beach for approximately $10 per person each way. There's a fee to enter the beach which goes to showers and maintenance since it's not supported by a hotel. Taxis always waiting to take you back to ship. Very easy to do on your own.
