Travel insurance

The big thing is, they do not adjust price based on age.

 

That was the big thing.  For us, at 59, the 3rd party was cheaper with better coverage.

 

For my parents, at 87, the 3rd party was a significant percentage of the cruise cost.  Like 50%.

 

BTW to others, the insurance offered by the cruise line, is NOT covered by the cruise line.  They are just acting like a broker/agent.  Same as Insure My Trip or Trip Insurance Store.

 

The actual insurer is one of the big companies the specialize in travel insurance.

 

Yes, the coverage is less, but for older passengers, the cost is significantly less.
