Time To Cruise Again Posted August 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2019 Has anyone on RCCL asked for low sodium meals & if yes, how were they? Was the selection the same as on the menu with just less salt?

Was the selection the same as on the menu with just less salt? I have sailed the Allure of the Seas twice in the last 4 months. The first time we sailed in May, I ended up having severely swollen ankles, to the point I could not wear my dress shoes. So, yup I'm old, and had to do something. So. The first time we had dinner on our second cruise I notified the waitress that I needed a low salt diet. (Especially no added salt). One night I requested a veal selection in CK (not the veal chop). The chef came out and informed me there was no way to honor my request on this item, because of the way it was prepared. She then proceeded to provide me with all my options for the night, as well as items not on the menu in CK, but could be made in a timely manner. I was very pleased. Dress shoes happily worn, minimal swelling of ankles.............damn, sorrentos 🙂
Rare Lionesss Posted August 10, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2019 Forgot to add that you can do two other notices. 1. Call RCI or if using a TA, have them make note of your preferences on your reservation. 2. Upon boarding stop and talk to the Maitre D, in the MDR, and he can make note of your needs, and if needed he will get you to talk to one of the chefs, so as to the food selections are made to your need. Safe travels.

CruiseVA Posted September 3, 2019 #5 Share Posted September 3, 2019 On Princess we were told to select an item from the next days menu & they would prepare it low-sodium for us.
