Pensioncruiser Posted August 8, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2019 Looking like no cruise ships into Venice next year, agreement that they will dock three miles away on the other side of the lagoon has been reached. Understandable but such a shame as this is one of the most beautiful sail in/out in the World. Would recommend if it's on your bucket list book it now. edinburgher Posted August 8, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2019 Thought this might happen following the two incidents earlier this year. Ironic that both MSC and Costa are both Italian lines! According to breaking news online, some (but maybe not all) cruise ships could be diverted as early as next month.

Not surprising - we stayed in both Venice and Garde last year and paid a daily, per person tourist tax to the hotels where we stayed.
