Did you book direct or thru a TA?  I booked thru a TA and downloaded several times...and it's never correct.  My TA called them and had everything corrected....and sent me a pdf.  However, when I dl on the website...it's still all wrong.

My booking was through someone at MSC, but not via normal channels. My cruise included Gov't taxes, fees and port charges (which are usually an extra charge), onboard Service Charges (Gratuities) and All Inclusive Bar & Restaurant Beverage Package.

Customer service told me I needed to make changes or additions through customer service for them to show up on my e-ticket. She couldn't even correct the dates for a dining package I bought online. I had to cancel the package online and then she was able to book it for me. At least the refund for the canceled package was within a few hours.

I think I found a way around being charged. Just make some change to your passenger details and it will tell you to reprint your e-ticket. Then just make the change back and it will tell you to print it again. I assume when it tells you to print an e-ticket, that you won't be charged for it.

I may book a few more things.  I'll try that "change passenger details" and see what happens...but only with 20 days (as the website says) of the cruise and when I'm sure I won't be changing anything.  If it still doesn't work then it will be time for my TA to "earn his commission".

MSC really needs to overhaul the IT dept....they make things so complicated for us and so much more work for them.  If they charged me $50 to download anything it would come straight out of my casino budget.

So, the $50 they tried to charge me was real, but my TA did end up getting it removed.  I may simply have clicked the print/download button multiple times because it didn't appear that anything was actually happening (because their website is just screwy).

I plan on purchasing a drink package and probably a couple of excursions but want to wait until during the week when my TA is back at work, just in case she needs to straighten anything out.  She's already getting minimal commission since my fare was so low that I'd hate for her to have to put in any time convincing them (again) that their website is just screwy!
