What to do in Nassau?

I don't like booking excursions thru carnival, we have been to Nassau before, thinking about just staying on the boat but wanted to ask for ideas about just getting of boat and finding a beach or places to go, any info is helpful and appreciated!

A simple option is to get off the boat exit the cruise terminal and take a right.  Junkanoo public beach is a 15 minute walk.  It has little shacks selling beverages and a public restroom.

If you haven't seen the Queens staircase, the walk there isn't to bad. There is a fort to tour at the top at very reasonable cost.

Another option is to go to Ardastra Gardens and Zoo and walk around there.
