Cocoa Cay Cabana - prepurchase or buy on board?

Is it more expensive to purchase the Cocoa Cay Cabana on board during sailing?  If they have weather closures part of the day do you get a partial refund?  Is it worth it (we are thrill seekers)?  How long are the waits for the slides typically?  Thanks for any advice you can provide.  We’re a group of 8, could we just buy two additional passes and all use the cabana, or do they strictly enforce the 6 per cabana rule?

Hard to say because both pre-cruise and onboard prices change all the time.  Doing business with Royal is getting more and more like playing the lottery.

 

There is no way to add more passes to a cabana.  You are given only whatever number of wristbands are appropriate for that cabana.

The cabanas sell out quickly so the likelihood there will be any available on board is slim to none. Plus as they get closer to being sold out the prices skyrocket. I was there in July (Harmony) and there are plenty of chairs and umbrellas to go around. Unless you’re going to get one in the water park with a large group of people (cabana comes with 6 passes) to me it’s not worth it. 

 

Fyi-We were 15 minutes to the slides after opening (8:30 am) and Devils tower was already a 40 minute wait. An hour later it was up to over two hours long. But that’s just for Devils tower. My kiddo was able to hope between slides with minimal wait. Do the largest one first and then do the others. 

 

What are the chances that all 8 of you will be in the cabana at the same time? Most have said on this board they were too busy enjoying the sites to get the real use out of it.  Became a place to hold towels.

Unless you plan to "veg out" in the cabana all day, it's not worth the price.  There are PLENTY of loungers at all the beaches....if you want to roam and "thrill seek", just go and have fun.  A cabana isn't a "must" for most!
