Congrats OP.  Ignore the nasty attitudes here and enjoy the offer.

They are not too common anymore.

I was just going to post a similar comment .  Why the nasty negative comments? If you don't like the way Carnival operates you have two options.  Play in the casino or cruise on another line.  No need to sling darts at a person who is excited about earning an Elite cruise.

Congrats on your Elite cruise and have a wonderful time!

Just for reference, I did a three night cruise on the Carnival Liberty last week and racked up 14,000.  That got me an offer of a free Suite and Drinks on Us Everywhere for two.

We play in the casino but our offers aren't all that great.  I'm assuming they are among the lower level offers.  How are points allocated?  Clearly, I must not play enough!   Usually roulette and some slots, and DH likes blackjack.   What is the gambled value of that many points (as in -- how much do I need to spend to get those good offers??!!)

Less than a suite would have cost me.  Sometimes you just get 🍀

Thank you for responding.  That was a four day cruise.  I won a small jackpot on that cruise.  What typically happens is I win and then lose a lot of it back.  Now I have gotten a bit smarter and bought a gambling bank.  The gambling bank is a metal bank with a slot that you stick a percentage of your money in so that you don't lose it all back. The bank has two keys to it.  Leave them at home!  Another tip is to cash out when you get to a larger amount.  For me that is 800 - 1,000.  When I cash out, I put 200 of the 1,000 in the bank, then use the rest to play more.  It truly is entertainment for me but I also don't want to be a dummy about my spending.  With a gambling bank, you guarantee yourself to go home with some money.

Now, here is a tip for that slow casino bar.  Remember to tip cash or chips to your server.  I usually tip 2-5 dollars.  If there are fewer servers, then I tip 5 dollars the first time, then 1-2 each time I get a drink.  Your server will learn your name and will be coming back to you a LOT faster!  They appreciate cash instead of putting it on your account (as tax is taken out of their check and I am sure they have to split with everyone - so be kind to your personal server by giving him/her cash).  I take a small bundle of dollar bills with me to tip in cash.  I usually bring around 20-30 dollars in ones.  If you win a Jackpot, don't forget your server and the host, give them 10-20.  I am telling you, it makes a big difference.  Those folks don't make as much as you think they do.  They truly appreciate everything you give them.

Hope that helps,

Teresa

You know, Amazon knows me too well because they’ve recently suggested a gambling bank for me, which is the first time I’d ever heard of such a thing! But we travel to Choctaw at least once a month and you’ve sold me on the concept! Thanks for bringing it up, I’d forgotten all about it. I tend to lose what i win, too, and it makes me feel like 🥴 , whatever that face means.

We also agree about the tips, I actually brought $80 in ones this last trip (first time doing that but it was so much easier)!  I befriended a wonderful server in the casino named Shonette as my go-to, if you see her tell her she’s beloved!  In general I like tipping whomever I’m dealing with in cash, even guest services, the pizza folks late at night, or the ones making omelettes in the mornings. I think they’re overlooked when it comes to tipping, but they’re the ones I end up seeing most often and they make my trip better. I’m rambling now but thanks again for the gambling bank tip, I’m about to order it!

You and my hubby would get along well.  He tips at Guest Services, the pizza guy, the sandwich lady, the omelet maker.  People I would never think of to tip.
