marci4tony Posted September 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2019 We are headed out for my sons graduation present in mid November. Has anyone ever fished on a charter in Cayman? Would be a bummer to latch on to something AWESOME and have to pay to ship it home! LOL Bigger bummer - not having the kid catch anything... Thank you in advance - the fishing in Idaho ROCKS by the way! ~Marci
Rare crewsweeper Posted September 11, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2019 Lots of fish in the Caymans. Bonefish, yellow tail, grouper, porgy, pompano, wahoo, mahi mahi and more. There are limits. You will need a license (fishing charters can help provide). There are seasons for lobster, conch, whelks and minimum sizes for smaller fish. Charters should know . Cayman Offshore and Georges Watersports are two highly recommended charter companies in GC. https://www.caymanfishingcharters.com/ https://www.thingstodocayman.net/georges-watersports/ But there are plenty of others. https://fishingbooker.com/destinations/location/ky/grand-cayman
Capt_BJ Posted September 11, 2019 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2019 (edited) are you familiar with typical costs for charter fishing trips? Cayman half day (4 hours) $700 US (plus tip) granted that is for a boat that can take 7 people ..... this is not a crazy Cayman price btw .... charters from Port Canaveral run about the same ..... just managing expectations if not familiar. Had some family visiting and asked me to set up a trip from Canaveral and they quickly lost interest when we got around to actual prices ... they were not expecting such $$.
