Many people cannot take that extra day off from work and will have no choice but to fly in the day of the cruise. So, have some compassion when my flight from Maine is delayed or canceled on the day the cruise is departing.

This is why a Sunday departure is often a better choice than Saturday. I realize that sometimes the chosen itinerary only leaves on Saturday. But, if it is a basic 7- night Eastern or Western Caribbean cruise, you may have multiple ships with different departure days. Sunday departures allows for a Saturday arrival (to state the obvious😀)
