Bookworm1985 Posted October 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2019 Has anyone had any recent luck with the AARP gift cards? I am a member and I have more then enough points to buy gift cards to pay off my cruise, but i never actually SEE any there to buy. I also have Allstate rewards, so I at least have some access for discounted cards, but AARP is faster to earn.
Joe817 Posted October 21, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2019 I have a lot of points too. AARP(or their fulfillment company, to be precise), has removed the gift cards from their online catalog. I also check 2 or 3 times per week their message boards. And for Carnival Gift Cards, the message is always the same: "We will let you know as soon as they become available." That's a reoccurring message for the past month. As far as I can tell nothing is happening with them.
NCTribeFan Posted October 21, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2019 This is exactly why I used every single one of my AARP points before the Rewards switch - either buying GCs or trying to win one of those $5k Carnival cards in the Sweeps (I did not!).

Yep, not sure why more people don’t take advantage of a 10% discount! We used the AARP discount on our last cruise and had no problems before they switched. I will say that I found it easier to find codes for Allstate than the AARP.

Just an FYI, the Hosts will probably close this thread since they want all AARP discussions to be kept in this thread: When the Carnival cards return, we don't need points anymore. At least that's how it was on day 1 of the new rewards program. But they do require people to be AARP members to be able to buy the Carnival cards.
