Timing pick up for airport transfer at debarkation

We are debarking the Sky Princess November 10th in Rome.  Our flight isn’t until 6 pm, I had scheduled a transfer pickup at 11:00 thinking we could debark around 9:30 and leisurely find our luggage and go through customs.  The ship is scheduled to arrive in port at 5 am.  Is this too late of a pick up, the transfer company seems to think so.  Will we be required to debark earlier? This is our first Princess cruise so not sure.  Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Erica

You should be able to wait until about 9:30 or so to leave the ship.  They like to have every one off no later than 10:00. This allows time to clean rooms before they start boarding new passengers.Since you are getting off in Rome this may be different but you do not have to leave as soon as the ship docks. Those with moreRome experience may soon drop in with more specific information.

Have a great trip.

We disembarked in Rome by 7:30 and met our Romeinlimo driver for a quick drive into Rome. (Saturday-no traffic!!). If your flight is at 6 PM you will want to arrive by 3:00. The first time we allowed only 2 hours before flight time and it was too tight.  The lines at the airline (AA) were very long and slow!   Also, no time to file for VAT reimbursement.  So, if there are some sights you want to see in Rome you would have plenty of time to have your driver show you some high points if you leave the ship early.   We asked for the first group after those taking their own luggage. There was no Immigration check point, you will just walk right off.   Good luck!.  We’ll be disembarking the a Enchanted in Rome in July!

Since Princess always wants us out of our room by 8 AM we use that as our guide as we do not enjoy dragging our carry-ons around with us. We go to breakfast and then return to our room just before 8 to get our bags and head to the disembark lounge.
