Taxis in St Kitts

We are going to be in St Kitts in November.  Have heard that there is a very nice Marriott hotel there that we would like to visit. Has anyone taken a taxi from the cruise dock to the Marriott?  Is it a long distance away and does anyone have an idea of the cost for 4 people?  Just as important is it safe to take a taxi in St Kitts

Taxi fares are regulated in St Kitts. Prices quoted are for 1 to 4 passengers  sharing the ride. The fare to the Marriott is going to be approx $12-15 each way. It is about a 15 minute ride away. The prices are in US dollars and in cash and no plastic. There is a taxi stand near the Marriott, so when you are going to leave have the doorman call you a cab for the return to the port area if that is your destination.

We have done the Marriott off a cruise on St. Kitt's 3 times, and plan to do it again next month.  I echo Paul58 above on taxi price ... short length of ride (and gives you a nice scenic look at the island) ... and ease of getting a taxi back to the ship.  The Marriott people treat you great ... the beach is peaceful & the loungers spread out, with plenty of shaded ones available ... pool also available along with a nice little hotel beach bar & restaurant.  There's a reason we keep going back.
