Missed ports and excursion reservations?

I'm all for saving a buck and am looking into booking some excursions in St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Aruba privately (not through RCI). (I haven't pinned down anything yet.) If I make reservations with Atlantis (submarine, or sea explorer), or with Godfrey tours... and for some reason I don't show up because the ship skips the port, would I still be charged? Has this happened to anyone?

This question would best be asked to the individual tour operators that you are contemplating using. They should be able to provide you their policy on this.

If you book excursions through RCCL are you reimbursed if you miss the port?

If you are booked with RCI, you are re-imbursed.

 

All of the private operators that I have delt with will refund if your ship does not make the port. That is a question that I ask them. Some of them do not get paid until you have taken the tour.

I can only tell you our experience with Godfrey. He doesn't collect a penny from you until the end of your tour.

Thanks for your answers. That certainly makes me feel better about booking excursions on my own (and I will confirm each operator's policies when I book). :D
