Im slightly confused on this one how exactly it works.. As an example we already have the plat discount (and tbf we usually book independently anyway so its not something I have thought about) .. However I know from experience that if you use the onscreen system onboard in your cabin or the  websites pre book that the discount never appears unless you go to the desk and can be bothered to ask.

So the simple question is whats the procedure if you want to take your discount and also use the 50$ cabin reduction per port.,

I have the discount and am platinum.  I call shore x's and book the trips, then I get the $50 off per day,  and when I didnt c the extra 10%,  I marched over to the desk and got the platinum discount.   You have to check that both credits r applied.  Then my OBC took care of the money I owed.

The price you pay is the list price less you platinum discount. If you book it anywhere except the shore ex desk, check that your discount is properly applied.

After your excursion is complete, you get a $50 on board credit applied to your

account. If your shore ex was less than $50, you get the lesser of $50 or the cost of the excursion. (Example, if you book a clam shell for $35 less platinum discount, you only get a $32.50 credit applied to your on board account).
