Zadar, Croatia

Recommended Posts

I was on a ship that stopped in Zadar maybe four years ago. The ship offered a free walking tour that was about 3 hours or so -- we saw three of the beautiful old churches, as well as a small museum that was part of the collections of one of the churches (supposedly something that we had a special arrangement to see), also saw what's left of the Roman Forum and some of the city walls/gates. It would be pretty easy to do it on your own; I'm sure you could find info for a self-guided tour in a guidebook or online.

After the tour, I stopped and had an ice-cream at a well-known local place and also visited the city's archaeological museum before heading back to the ship.  It's easy to walk from the ship into town and vice versa.
