Port time or ship time

Ship time always stays the same no matter what time zone you go into. Ship time will always be whatever time zone your sail away port was. So if you left from Miami your ship time will always be eastern time.

This is not correct.  When sailing to Hawaii from Long Beach ship time was set back an hour twice and set forward an hour twice on the return.  On certain sailings ship time was advanced an hour to Atlantic time.  It all depends on where you sail from and where you go.

depends.      some do   most dont change the time

BUT if you are going to  a port with a 2 hour change--  they will change to reflect times.   But could only change it to one  hour.

But the "good" vendors  will know what the ships do.

If booking from carnival-- whatever the time says on your ticket is when you meet

Not correct. Leaving from Port Canaveral or Fort Lauderdale or Miami. The ship is on that time when it leaves. It may or may not change. When we went to several different places the ships time changed in that port. Certainly not every port. Example was when we went to Bermuda they changed the time the day before we arrived. Returning they changed the time back the day before we arrived.

Nope.  When we sailed to Singapore on Splendor, we changed time almost every night.  At one point we even lost an one hour and an entire day crossing the intl date line.  Hub app didn’t always display the correct time and smart phones were messed up too.  I have never been so confused on a daily basis as to what time it actually was.  Lol

Would Cabo be one of them?

Cabo is on MST, 1 hour ahead of PST.   But Puerto Vallarta is on CST, 2 hours ahead of PST.  So it is possible that the captain could change to port time.  His discretion.

Carnival will typically stay on ship time for 1 hour differences or when on DST and Ports don't observe DST.  But will change when crossing several time zones or overnighting in a different time zone (like Bermuda cruises).

Our ships always change time to the current time zone. Ships do not stick with original port time zone.
