CHEERS accounting

Are you provided a line item accounting for all CHEERS purchases ?

Background:  Wife and I are traveling with Wife's sister.  It's her first cruise, so she is not aware of the sticker shock at the end of a cruise after ordering a few drinks each day.  😅

 

The CHEERS package is perfect for my Lovely Bride and myself.  We think SIL will likely purchase 4 drinks a day on average, plus water and coffee drinks.  If she does, then she will break even on the CHEERS package cost.  What we are thinking is we will purchase the CHEERS package and tell her we will pay any difference between what she actually purchases and what the package costs. 

Hence, my question.  If we cannot see the cost of each drink she purchased with the CHEERS package, then it could become difficult to do the math ( I like doing the math... 😂 ) if she is required to ask for a receipt each time.

The one and only cruise that we did, we got Cheers, and then got a statement at the end that showed the date, time, and bar that Cheers was used. It did not show the price, since it was included.  You could probably arrive at a general number depending on what your SIL drink. Ie- Alchemy $12, other bars $10, Beers $7.

 

You could let your SIL make the decision herself and give a link to a Cheers calculator...

We cruised with a couple who did drink, but thought Cheers price was outrageous. This was a B2B. we paid about $800 for the first week. they could not fathom spending $1600 on drinks. There first week liquor bill was $1100 and they got Cheers for the second week. It adds up quick on vacation. We generally do not drink Bloody Marys or Mimosas everyday at home, actually almost never.

The post below shows my receipt for a cruise in January. I travel solo so I'm not sure what it would look like with more than one guest on a folio.

Every time you get a drink from the bar, you will be given a receipt to sign, and a copy for your records.  The receipt has the price on it, then it minuses that amount if you have Cheers.  For example:

Lobby bar - $6.50

Cheers!      -$6.50

Total               $0.00

Gratuity          _______

Total due:     _______
