Ship Sinks (1300 Passengers)

Hey Dan,

It's very unfortunate.

It will "scare" a lot of folks away from cruising.

I hope the media will properly report the condition of the ship prior to sinking, etc...

So, was it a CRUISE ship.... or just a ship that hauled passengers? Anyone know?

Hi, it was a passenger ferry, running between Saudi and Egypt, mostly carrying Egyptian workers home from Saudi. The authorities have picked up a few survivors in the lifeboats so far, but sadly not very many.

I doubt this will put too many people off cruising...

"Passengers said a fire broke out early in the trip and that it burned for hours." This is just too strange to be true. No SOS reported, and it was not know she sunk for a long time. Wonder if the Captain (or any of the officers) survived. And what their story will be.
